Introducing New_England_Digital
High end digital synthesizer/sampler company created a ground breaking computer based digital additive/FM synthesizer (with optional sampler and direct to disk recording), which paved the way for today's computer based synthesis, sampling, and recording. The original Synclavier (1977) did not have a keyboard, multiple partials, or sampling (single partial FM synthesis only), but few specifics could be found on it, so it is not included yet. For street prices, see Prepal.

Resources:
Architectural Classes:
- Additive: Multiple sine wave harmonics are combined.
- Conventional: Single cycle waveforms, subtractive architecture (filtered harmonics).
- FM: Oscillators use Frequency or Phase Modulation.
- Rompler: ROM based samples (often subtractive).
- Sampler: User recorded samples (often subtractive).
- Modelling: Digital model, usually involving a Driver and Modulators.
