The JX series begins the menu based editing system for Roland's step-up level synth line, but still offers dedicated (knob/function) editing via external editors. The JX-3P is similar to a dual oscillator Juno with a sequencer and minimal MIDI. Architecture Class: Conventional (subtractive).

The Roland JX-3P is a 61 key, 6 voice polyphonic hybrid (digital/analog) synthesizer, featuring dual oscillators (saw/pulse/square/noise waveforms with PWM, FM, and sync), high-pass and resonant low-pass filters, ADSR envelope, LFO (triangle, square, random waveforms), chorus, 64 presets (32 editable), chord memory, 128 step sequencer, tape interface, and basic MIDI.
