K5 1987 $2000US The K5 family develops Kawai's additive synthesis legacy, started by the K3 family. The Kawai K5 is a 61 key (velocity and pressure sensitive) 16 voice multitimbral synthesizer, featuring dual (63 harmonic) additive waveform generators (DFG), dedicate resonant low pass digital filters (DDF) and amps (DDA), dedicated EGs for pitch (6 stage), filters (6 stage), and amps (7 stage). Additionally, each channel has four (6 stage) harmonics envelopes. The two sound channels (S1/S2) then feed an 11 band digital formant filter. An LFO (saw/triangle/square waveforms), portamento, 48 presets, and MIDI are also included.
